Biobank Manager

Goal:

The goal of this role is to oversee biobank activities, ensuring that the handling, storage, and preparation of biological specimens strictly adhere to all preclinical requirements and regulatory standards.

Job duties:

• Continuously optimize the sample management system to improve operational efficiency and data accuracy.
• Maintain and regularly update comprehensive sample inventory lists, ensuring real-time tracking of all assets.
• Perform routine system maintenance and rigorous quality control checks to safeguard the integrity of the sample management database.
• Manage and coordinate the reception and shipment of biospecimens, ensuring all requirements are met.
• Oversee the secure storage and systematic cataloging of biospecimens according to specific protocol requirements (e.g., temperature and location).
• Generate detailed reports on completed tasks, inventory status, and operational metrics for leadership review.
• Operational Support: Execute additional project-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the biobank’s overall goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific field.
• Proven experience in a clinical, healthcare, or laboratory environment, or related field (warehousing, inventory management, etc.)
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively both as an independent contributor and as a collaborative team member.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data entry and inventory management; highly detail-oriented.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or related software.
• Language: Proficiency in English is preferable.
