Client Development Director

Goal:
The Client Development Director is responsible for developing existing and new Clients for Audubon Bioscience by growing their revenue, finding and developing new business opportunities while increasing (maintaining on a high level) Client’s loyalty/satisfaction level.
Main Job Duties:
Develops Existing Clients’ by growing their revenue:
- Manages key client relationships and works to build new ones within existing “accounts”
- Manages a team of Client Success Managers that work with Clients
- Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn’t
- Expands the profile and reach of the company and its brand through attending conferences and trade shows
- Develops and strengthens internal and external relationships that will lead to increased lead generation and market share.
- Builds cross-functional teams (Client Success – Project Management) to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth
- Oversees the process of preparing SOWs, Task Proposals for Clients. Pricing is approved jointly with CRO and Operations department
- Fosters and works to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions
- Together with CRO develops Annual/Quarterly Sales/Revenue plans and forecasts and breaks those down as goals for the existing team of “Client Success” managers
- Follows and works on improving existing motivation system for “Client Success” managers
Finds New Clients by fostering opportunities and partnerships:
- Identifies and develops new business opportunities
- Manages a team of Business Development/Client Managers that work with “Prospects” and “New Clients”
- Identifies and recommends new services and products for Clients
- Proposes and develops strategic partnerships to increase Client’s acquisition
- In collaboration with Marketing Department identifies “lead generation” and “Client outreach” opportunities and implements those on the “sales side”
- Researches and identifies new markets/Client segments in collaboration with Marketing Department
- Provides advice on product/services development and distribution and promotion strategies.
- Identifies sponsorship opportunities, including nonprofit engagement
- Travels to Client’s headquarters/locations (if necessary) to obtain new partnerships or strengthen existing relationships with “New Clients”
Assists CRO (Chief Revenue Officer) in key strategies of the “Revenue Division”:
- Involved in ongoing market and competitors research to maintain relevant price level and ensure target marginality of Audubon’s business
- Involved in development of new products/services and identifying extra revenue opportunities
- Involved in the process of “customer experience” development of customer-facing web platforms and digital experiences.
- Participates in contract negotiations/renegotiations with key clients (jointly with CRO and CEO, where needed)
Requirements:
- 5+ years in Sales/Business Development leadership roles, practical experience in driving and implementing “Client Growth” strategies
- Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business development, sales and customer relations.
- Deep understanding of biosamples procurement industry (both “Demand” and “Supply” side), competitors and its surrounding environment
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Inspirational leadership style and hands-on approach
- Strong technical experience with Salesforce, Hubspot and/or other CRM tools
- A Masters degree in Business Administration would be a plus.
